PATHBIO Summer course
The first PATHBIO Summer course on Mouse Embryology, Anatomy, Histology, and anatomical basis of Imaging which will take place on July 15th – 26th 2019 in the Veterinary School at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (www.uab.cat).
The aim of this course is to provide graduate, master, PhD and postdoc students with basic and expert knowledge to phenotype mouse models of human diseases. Expert mouse embryologists, anatomists, pathologists and researchers from Europe and the US will give lectures and discuss with the participants different aspects of mouse morphological phenotyping, including examples of mouse models for the major human diseases.

The course teaching is a “hands on” process, and lectures will be followed by practical sessions in which participants will dissect the different organs of the mouse body and will work with bone specimens, radiographs, and images from TEM, micro-CT and MRI. For histological teaching digital slides will be used.
There is no registration fee for this course (lecturers for this and the 3 other summer courses have received Erasmus grants from the EU to cover expenses for teaching so no revenue is needed from the participants). Participants have to organize travel and accommodation themselves and cover their corresponding expenses. Each of the Summer schools are a week long and places are limited to 30 students.
The next summer school will be in Copenhagen in August – details will be available in due course, another in September and the last one will be held in October.
Interested participants should apply with CV and letter of motivation, explaining why they want to go on the course to jesus.ruberte@uab.es. Deadline for applications is May 31st , 2019. The Pathbio consortium faculty will pick out the 30 successful candidates. Accepted participants will be informed by the middle of June.
