CL Davis Thompson Veterinary Pathology Descriptive Course

This 1 week course will be held at the Hawkshead Campus of the Royal Veterinary College, London, United Kingdom from 1st-5th August 2016.

DESCRIPTION:
Brush up your descriptive veterinary pathology skills in a supportive and collegial environment. Lectures, demonstrations, microscope sessions, quizzes, and mock examinations will be presented during a week-long course.
This course is help attendees develop and refine their process for describing gross and microscopic lesions in a variety of major organs in numerous animal species, as well as describe cytology specimens, electron micrographs, and interpret immunohistochemical stains. Also included will be instruction in the comprehensive correlation of gross, microscopic, cytologic, and ultrastructural findings with each other and with associated ancillary test data within the larger context of disease pathogenesis. Practice tests (gross and microscopic) will be given and graded to provide feedback, in addition to interactive learning sessions with the instructors. Microscopes will be provided, and gross lesions will be demonstrated by means of digital images.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
This course is aimed at veterinary graduates who are training to be veterinary pathologists. It uses the terminology and descriptive style used by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. However, the course is also suitable for advanced veterinary students wishing to increase their familiarity with the techniques and language of diagnostic pathology.

A range of self-catered accommodation with shared kitchen facilities (£25.50 + VAT per night) or B&B style accommodation (£38.50 + VAT per night) is available on site, however this is quite limited and so early booking is strongly advised. TUITION: €400 (includes lunch and refreshments each day) until 1st July 2016. Late registration (after 1st July 2016) €450.
