Virtual Continuing Education Symposium 10: Urinary System

CES 10 will be held over two weeks – on the afternoons of Tuesday 9th, Wednesday 10th, Thursday 11th, Tuesday 16th, Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th July 2024, from 13.00 – 17.00 (GMT+1, London/UCT+1/EDT-4) each day.
Approved by the Royal Society of Biology for the purposes of CPD, this event may be counted as approximately 63 credits.
Approximately 21 hours of educational activity will be recorded on Attendance Certificates.

Registration Fees: Registration fees are for full attendance (6 afternoons) and no discount will be given for part attendance.
Official language: The official language of the symposium is English.

By registering for this event, you agree that the information made available is for your own educational use and that no part of the presentations/ handouts received may be reproduced or transmitted in any form, or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopy, or any information storage and retrieval system, without permission in writing from the individual speakers/authors. The BSTP will not be recording this event and participants must not make audio or visual recordings of the event in any medium and you must not record any part of the symposium direct or by external sources including screen shots or by an external recording device or distribute any such illicit audio or visual recordings via social media or any other means.
Whilst every effort is made to try and provide copies of speaker’s presentations/handouts by whatever format, the BSTP are unable to guarantee that individual speakers will make their presentations available to delegates.

Reduced rates for early career pathologists and free place bursaries are available!
The BSTP are able to offer at least three free places on each of our Continuing Education Symposiums (CES).
Applications are welcomed from interested members and non-members of the BSTP.
The awarding of funding will be at the discretion of the BSTP Council.
Priority will be given to individuals working within an “early career” environment, for example, postgraduate MSc or doctoral students working within a relevant scientific field, or veterinary pathology residents working towards a professional qualification and gaining more experience within the field of toxicological pathology.
In addition, if the successful candidate is not already a member of the BSTP, they will also receive a year’s free membership of BSTP.
The deadline for applications for CES 10 is 31st May 2024.
When applying you should submit the following:
- A brief CV.
- A covering letter stating why this particular CES is of interest to you.
- A letter from your supervisor/Head of Department confirming that you are working within an “early career” environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Complete and return a CES/meeting registration form (sent to the successful candidate after the award has been made).
- Attend the whole symposium.
- Write a short article (approx 500 words) describing their own research, a brief overview of the symposium, or a description of how the symposium has contributed to your training/professional knowledge (this may appear in the BSTP Newsletter).
- If not already a member of the BSTP, complete and return the membership application form (sent to the successful candidate after the award has been made).
Completed applications should be sent directly to the BSTP Secretariat to allow for a decision to be made by the BSTP Council. Successful applicants will be notified by the BSTP Secretariat in good time to register for the meeting.

Criteria for the BSTP Trainee/Early Career Pathologist (TECP) – Reduced Registration Fees
The BSTP Trainee/Early Career Pathologist (TECP) reduced registration fee is aimed postgraduate MSc or doctoral students and veterinary pathology residents plus non-qualified (i.e. not board certified) early career researchers at a research institute utilising pathology (e.g. <2 years in post).
To access this reduced fee, a letter from your supervisor/Head of Department confirming your status and brief CV must be provided during registration.
The BSTP are happy for you to disseminate this information to your colleagues within your group.
