BTS Annual Congress 2015
The BTS Annual Congress takes place on 19th to 22th April 2015 at St. John’s Hotel, Solihull.
Symposia will include:
- Fetal Programming and Assessing Toxicity in an Ageing Population
- In Vitro Models and Tools for Renal Toxicology
- Emergency Toxicology – Acute Toxicity Risk Assessment
- Mathematical Toxicology
- Renal Pathology – Integration with Toxicology
- Pharmaceuticals in the Environment
- Oligonucleotides – Application in Health and the Environment
There will also be a CEP session on Continuing Education Programme: In Silico Toxicology: Present Tense, Future Perfect.

Renal Pathology – Integration with Toxicology
Chairs: Dr Catherine Ross (Covance Laboratories, UK) and Dr Ernie Harpur (Newcastle University, UK)
Symposium 5 will cover:
- Novel biomarkers of renal toxicity and their interpretation – Ernie Harpur (Newcastle University, UK);
- Immunohistochemistry as an investigative tool in discovery toxicology of the kidney – Franck Chanut (GlaxoSmithKline, UK)
- Models of renal disease: choice and implications for toxicity testing – Martin Leonard (Public Health England, UK)
- Renal pathology of antisense oligonucleotides – Cecile Sobry (CiToxLAB, France)
- Barnes Prize Lecture – Immunotoxicology and beyond – Ian Kimber (University of Manchester, UK)
