BelTox Annual Meeting 2023 on Advances in the Risk Assessment of Chemical Mixtures
The BelTox annual scientific meeting of 2023 (AM23) will take place in the Auditoire Maisin at the Brussels campus of the UCLouvain on the 7th December 2023. The theme of the meeting is “Advances in the Risk Assessment of Chemical Mixtures”.
Jacob van Klaveren (RIVM) will set the stage by providing a State of the Science. Next, recent advances in the field will be presented by Andreas Kortenkamp (Brunel University) who will look into the use of MAF, and by Robert Pasanen-Kase (SECO) who will discuss the use of AOPs. Interesting case studies will be provided by Juan-Carlos Carillo (Shell) who will present an assessment approach for oil and wax hydrocarbons, by Birgit Mertens (Sciensano) who will describe the recent work on the assessment of mycotoxin mixtures in food and by Hugo Waeterschoot (Eurometaux) who will provide an industry perspective on mixture risk assessment of chemicals in the environment. Sarah Leverato (EFSA) will discuss the EFSA Roadmap for pesticide risk assessment.
In addition to the short Q&A sessions after each presentation, a longer Q&A session is foreseen at the end of the meeting where all remaining questions will be handled.
As every year, BelTox will organize during this meeting a young scientist competition for the best presentations and posters of PhD students. The two best presentations and the two best posters will receive a reward.
