BSTP 2007/2008 Bursaries

The BSTP grants a travel bursary of £500 for a member (full or associate) to attend a recognised scientific meeting, and give a platform presentation or present a poster on a Tox Path subject of their choice. There is no limitation on the Tox Path experience of the applicant or which meeting is chosen.

All applications must be in writing to the Treasurer of the BSTP either directly or via the BSTP Secretariat. Applications will be assessed at Council meetings. If there is more than one candidate, the application will be picked by judgment of the scientific merit of the presentation.

Criteria for application:

An application to present a paper or poster at a meeting of recognised scientific merit.

  • Must contain at least a brief summary of the presentation, preferably a PowerPoint handout of draft 1.
  • All successful alternative funding details must be disclosed.
  • The application must be accompanied by a copy of the applicant’s CV and a letter of recommendation by their Head of Department.
  • The successful applicant must be willing to write up the presentation as a short case report/article for the BSTP Newsletter.

There is no limit on the number of times each of our members can apply for this bursary or the number of times it will be awarded per year, but please note that the BSTP Council’s decision as to who is the successful candidate will be final and binding.
