Your Society needs you!
The BSTP is currently looking for volunteers to take up the positions of Junior Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary on the BSTP Council and to fill BSTP Council posts. Please consider nominating yourself in the forthcoming BSTP Council Elections.
The nomination paperwork for this year’s Council elections will be sent out to all members towards the end of July, with the results announced at the AGM on 10th November.
The work is not onerous, and one is exposed to many different and interesting situations such as organising the BSTP annual scientific meeting or commenting on new toxicopathology pathology guidance documents such as those on digital pathology.
Volunteering for your professional organisation is a motivating experience with multiple benefits.
Volunteering helps to raise one’s visibility in the profession and allows one to meet fellow pathologists in different companies leading to lifelong friendships.
Your BSTP committee work counts for continuing education points for the Royal College of Pathologists and the European College of Veterinary Pathology.
Serving on the BSTP Council is also highly valued if seeking membership of the International Academy of Toxicologic Pathology.
Serving on your BSTP Council can help to improve one’s curriculum vitae and promotion prospects, but most importantly it is a highly enjoyable and satisfying experience to “put back” into one’s professional body.
If this is something that you would like to consider, please contact the BSTP Secretariat (bstpsecretariat@gmail.com), who will forward your email on to the relevant Council member.
